Eliezer was born on July 22, 1922 in Grande rivière du Nord, Haiti to Lysias and Louise Beauharnais. He had 2 brothers and 1 sister – Eugene, Marcel, and Antonine. Eliezer married Catherine Nerestant in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1952.
Eliezer began his lifetime career as a barber. He owned and managed a successful barbershop in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Spring Valley, New York. For over 50 years, Eliezer enjoyed working day and night at his barbershop, La Citadelle, in Spring Valley. As he always loved to say “the barbershop is my second home. This is the place my friends and I gather to talk, party, eat, and share our opinions on our beloved country, Haiti”. His customers loved to come to his barbershop, as it was a place of great service, conversation and laughter. Eliezer was well known for his passion of music – listening to French artists like Charles Aznavour and Mireille Mathieu. He loved singing to his family and was even known to entertain his customers during a cut. And you could not forget his commentaries when he was listening to the Haitian radio station Tropicale. He loved reading, especially the Bible. He was a devout Catholic with strong faith in the Holy Trinity (God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit). He was a force to recon with when it comes with his faith. He embedded strong religious values and principles in his family.
Eliezer was a kind, loving, and generous man. He was well respected by many in the community of Spring Valley. He was a man of strong morals with great admiration for Knowledge. As he used to say “Life is a constant learning process”. He maintained a collection of books on a variety of topics, which he was always willing to share with loved ones. Always stressing to his family the importance of education as the key to a promising and bright future. He had a beautiful mind with excellent memory, and was very knowledgeable. Eliezer was thoughtful with a loving heart - bringing a smile or laugh to everyone he met. He will mostly be remembered for his wonderful personality complimented with his debonair style and signature hats. By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, Eliezer lived a full and beautiful life.
He is survived by his 4 children: Margareth Dorsanville, Staffeld Patrick Beauharnais, Carline Roselande Cadet, and Ingrid Beauharnais-Boucicaut; 11 grand-children: Marline Vignier, Lashenda Beauharnais, Melissa Cadet, Nathalie Vignier, Tamarra Brown, Patrick Beauharnais, Marsha Jean-Baptist, Roger L. Cadet, Stanley Dorsanville, Ishmael Boucicaut, and Isabella Boucicaut; and 3 great-grandchildren: Liam Isaac Burris, Leah Vanessa Burris, and Ivan Brown. As well as loving relatives and friends.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 9:00am. Address: Saint Joseph Parish, 245 North Main Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Burial will follow at Brick Church Cemetery in Monsey, NY 10952.
Funeral repast/reception will follow the burial at First Timothy Christian Church, 200 North Main Street, Spring Valley, NY.
