Lyle A. Kohlenberg, 83, of Fremont died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 12, 1934 in Green Springs the son of Harold and Alda (Huss) Kohlenberg. Lyle was a United States Army Veteran serving from May 25, 1954 to May 4, 1956 with Company D 47th Infantry Regiment as a Light Vehicle Driver. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
On January 21, 1957 her married Dorothy Stegman, she preceded him in death on June 13, 2016. Lyle worked construction and enjoyed buying and selling tools at local flea markets. He attended them until the day he died. He also enjoyed working on cars, being busy and taking care of the house and yard.
Surviving is his daughter Cindy (Dennis Mintus)Johnson of Warren, OH; grandchildren; Amber and Craig Johnson, Nathan Kohlenberg, Lindsay Simpkins, Dawn Ickes, and two great grandchildren; brother Thomas Kohlenberg of California. He was preceded in death by his wife, sons Daniel and Steven, brother Robert and sister Shirley Buehning.
Visitation will take place from 10-11:00A.M. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 11:00A.M. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the V.F.W and American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to Lyle’s family.
