Barbara J. Royer, 68, of Ossian, passed away at Coventry Meadows on Thursday, October 18, 2018. She was born October 3, 1950 in Kokomo to the late George and Louise Baldwin. She was a 1968 graduate of Kokomo High School and a U. S. Navy Veteran. She had worked in customer service at Guardian Photo for 13 years and then PHD for 17 years. She retired from Ossian Deli after 10 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A couple of her favorite pastimes were watching game shows and putting together jigsaw puzzels. Surviving are her husband, Walter Royer of Ossian; children, Tara Burkhart and Chad (Misty) Shirar, both of Fort Wayne; brother, Pat (Lori) Baldwin of WI; grandchildren, Alisa, Sha, Caleb, Canaan, Kynsley, Carter, and Cason; and brother in law, Fred (Karen) Royer of Decatur. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Baldwin; and son in law, Donny Burkhart. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association or Heartland Hospice.
