In loving memory Deborah Joyce Allen, 62 of Little River South Carolina. Deborah has been battling cancer since 2008. She lost her courageous battle with brain cancer at her home on October 17th 2018.
Debra, as she would spell it, was born August 23rd, 1956, at Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton New York. The youngest daughter of Leonard Michaletz and Eva May Vanwhy of Montrose, Pennsylvania.on July 7th 1996, she married Dexter Allen of Otego, New York. Shortly after they moved to South Carolina. In South Carolina she started her own business.
Deb loved chocolate, cooking for family especially during the holidays. Christmas decorating was her favorite, but loved every holiday. She was always planning her next adventure, camping trip, roller coaster ride or vacation with family. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, she knew what life was about. She also enjoyed crocheting knitting or sewing and was continually making something for someone. Her charisma, strength and smile knew no stranger; she was continually helping those around her. She is survived by her husband Dexter, her oldest son, Leonard Ross and his wife Moriah Wedieck. Their children Phylen and Lenhon. Her son, Byron Ross and his spouse Ismene Jackson, his oldest daughter Jade, daughter Angel , son Ethan and youngest daughter River. Her daughter Julia Ross and boyfriend Elliot. Her children Tyler Ross and Alexis Ross. Her sister Shannon Michaletz and her spouse Susan of South Carolina. Her sister Arlene Michaletz of Pennsylvania. Her father and mother-in-law Robert and Nancy Allen. Her sister-in-law Bobbie Jo Allen and Gary Burnett and their children Jordan and Sagel. Her brother-in-law Rob Allen and his wife Anne Thayer and their children Andrew and Jacob.
She was preceded by her mom and dad and first husband Rick Ross. She has a large number of family members on the Ross side, from Montrose PA, she was and is loved my many. Calling hours will held in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, from 11 am to 1 pm at which time the family will be in attendance. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 1 pm in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St. Oneonta, with Rev. Paul Messner, Pastor of the Lutheran Church of Atonement officiating. Burial will take place in Otego Evergreen Cemetery.
