Francis Stanley Kolasa, age 85, at rest October 25, 2018. Frank was born on May 20, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan to Stanley and Grace, nee Kosinski, Kolasa. Beloved husband of Norma, nee Miller, for 59 years; loving father of Ann (James) Zastrow, Beth (Greg) Glover, Martha (Robert) Sabourin and Steve (fiancée Susan Sowle). Devoted dziadzia of Tia (Tori) Kolasa, Allie Kolasa, Dmitri Glover, Sasha Glover, Emma Zastrow and Jade Sabourin; delighted great-grandfather of Amelia Miara Kolasa and Addison Stanley Kolasa. A lifelong learner, Frank returned to school in midlife, graduated from Cooley Law School in 1982 and practiced law for 15 years. He was committed to his faith and his community, serving on the board of Williamston Community Schools in the 70s and various non-profits through the mid-2000s. He enjoyed golf, travel, jazz and Polish language study, and always maintained his enthusiasm for learning new things, most recently cooking. His favorite times were those spent with his family. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Sr. Roberta Kolasa, S.J. and Marsha Kolasa. Friends will gather at the Gorsline Runciman Williamston Chapel on Sunday, October 28, from 5 – 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 29 at 11am at St Mary Catholic Church, interment Mt Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Williamston Food Bank are appreciated.
