Preceded in death by his mother Billie Nelms and Father Melvin Hudmon.
Wayne was an American Hero, known to many as “Walking Wayne” he was raised in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served valiantly in Vietnam. Through his heroic efforts and expert marksmanship, The United States Marine Corp awarded him two Purple Hearts a Bronze Star along with several other ribbons and campaign citations.
He loved his country and our Flag immensely.
He traveled across the country working as a professional roofer and later in life as a scrap metal recycler, but he always lived the motto:
Once a Marine Always a Marine!
Wayne had passions for traveling, exploring, dancing, playing pool, going to the races, playing his poker games, flying his drone and being with friends.
Wayne loved his family unconditionally, and will always be remembered for that and for his joyful free spirit.

His son Randy Lee of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his daughter Heather Shropshire of Las Vegas, Nevada and 3 grandsons, Nathan, A’mari and Isiah Shropshire.
One Sister Vicki Perez and spouse David and one Brother Ken Nelms and spouse Vicki as well as 3 Nephews and 3 Nieces, Richard, Mike, Quentin, JC, Mira and Faith.
