1937 - 2018.
NORWICH, Omer Rondeau 81, husband of Frances (Renaldi) Rondeau died peacefully at home on October 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwich on June 2, 1937, he was the son of the late Omer and Odelia (Gaucher) Rondeau. On October 12, 1968 at Saint Patrick Cathedral, he was united in marriage to his wife of 50 years, Frances J. Renaldi who survives him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
After graduating from Norwich Regional Technical School in 1955, he entered the U.S. Navy where he was enlisted as a Sea Bee. Upon his discharge, he was employed by Hawthorne cabinet makers and Command Aircraft in Moosup. He was employed by Norwich Regional Technical School in 1968 until his retirement and was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Norwich.
Surviving are a son Michael and his wife Melissa Rondeau of Norwich, a daughter Amy and her husband Jeffrey McKinney of Lebanon and two precious grandchildren, Kyla and Gavin McKinney, one sister Jeannette (Rondeau) Gadle and 3 nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a nephew Kenneth Gadle.
The family would like to express a very special “Thank You” to Karen Alves, for her dedication and compassion to him for the last four years, and Laurie Bowen for her tireless assistance in his care.
Calling hours will be at Labenski Funeral Home on Wednesday October 31st, 2018 from 8am to 9:45am, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral 213 Broadway in Norwich, with burial to follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
