It is with great sadness, we as a family announce the passing of our beloved mother, Martha Frances Hernandez. She was born March 12, 1947 and left to be with our Lord on October 27, 2018.
PSALMS 19: 1-5 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. “
Those who met our mother always described her as a strong and compassionate woman, who was quick to love and quick to correct when needed. Her mere presence was astounding, the unique spirit within her was known to uplift those around her when they needed it the most. This profound strength derived from her belief in the Lord, and the many hardships that were thrown her way during her youth. With no surprise from those around her, she moved around and through these obstacles with such grace, all while displaying the great strength and determination that the Lord blessed her with. Like many great teachers, she took what she learned and poured out her knowledge upon those that she loved. Martha being a compassionate leader also graced her Community with her service. The following are her accomplishments: She assisted in the development of groups to extinguish violence, sponsored and supported “Brown Passion” a young woman’s club, further, she sponsored a youth group for girls that helped promote unity and strength through education and respect for themselves.
Pre-deceased by her son Daniel "Spooky" Hernandez, her mother Carolyn Hernandez, and father Jacinto Hernandez. Martha Frances Hernandez leaves behind: daughter Frances Quiroz, son B Hernandez, and daughter Regina Mayorga. Grandchildren: Mark Quiroz, Martha Quiroz, Armando Zamora, Maritza Quiroz, Carmen Hernandez, DJ Hernandez, Felicia Nino, Michael Gasco and Robert Mayorga. Siblings: Alice Salazar, Jack Hernandez, and Carole DeHaro. Martha had 15 great grandchildren, she loved all of her family members dearly.
Our mother continued down the path of mentorship and Community leader for years. She aided those with addictions, housing problems, and needy families through various organizations. She was what you call "a can do person", never taking no as an answer, and always strived to find the solution to any problem. Martha left such an imprint on this world that she will never be forgotten by those who had the pleasure to make her acquaintance.
We welcome the celebration of death from our families, Hernandez, Quiroz, Mayorga, DeHaro and Soria's.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AchesonandGraham.com for the Hernandez family.
