Mildred A. Litzelman, 94, passed away Thursday November 1st at Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg. She was a former resident of Swatara Township.
Mildred was born in Williamsport, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Agatha (Staib) Bluhm. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Litzelman Sr. in 1975, her son, Charles M. Litzelman in 2009, and all 11 of her siblings.
Surviving are her children, Michael F. Litzelman, wife Kim, of Burke, Va., Paul J. Litzelman, Jr., wife Allyn, of Lewisberry, Pa. and her grandson, Sam Litzelman, of Camp Hill, Pa.
In addition to her family, Mildred loved her church. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Church for 61 years, where in her younger years she was a cub scout den mother, and later years she was a regular at the Coffee Cup and the Miraculous Medal Novenas.
In the past Mildred was employed in the accounting offices of the Williamsport Technical School, Town and Country Department Stores, Dauphin County Comptroller’s Office, and the Harrisburg School District.
Mildred was named American Business Women's Association Woman of the Year. She was also a member of the Dauphin County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
Mildred’s family would like to thank all of the staff at Messiah Lifeways for her excellent and loving care over the last three years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 7th at 11A.M. at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg. A visitation will take place one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to her church.
