William J. Willis “Bill”, passed away peacefully at hospice in Altamonte Springs, Florida at the age of 76. Born on January 13,1942 in New Haven, Connecticut, Bill served in the U.S. Navy, he was a successful business owner, and route salesman prior to moving with his family to Florida in 1992. In Florida he was active in the community and a devoted caregiver before retiring in 2003. Bill always put family first and enjoyed cooking, old time movies, babysitting his grandchildren, and cherished his Christian faith. He lived a full life, one which positively continues to impact family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, a smile that would light up a room, and his thoughtfulness and compassion were remarkable. Philippians 2:3-4 best described Bill. He celebrated 48 years of marriage to his wonderful wife Sharon E. Willis who passed in 2014.
Survivors include his son, Kevin J. Willis; daughter-in-law, Debra A. Willis; and grandchildren, Aidan J. Willis and Katelyn A. Willis all residing in Florida. Bill was the brother of Raymond Willis (deceased), and the step-brother of Bernadette Brown (deceased). Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Catherine Willis of Connecticut. Baldwin – Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel will manage arrangements and a private family memorial service will be held in Lake Mary/Sanford, Florida at a future date.
