With family caring for her and always at her bedside, our dearly beloved mother, Annie Virginia Cook (Anne) McCoy, age 93, passed from this life, Wednesday, November 7, 2018, to her forever eternal home.
Anne was born Dec 11, 1924; daughter of the late Charlie Clayton (Clate) Cook and Dovie Ester Williams (Mama Dove) Cook.
Anne’s childhood home was McCoy Road area in Madison County; she attended Pope and MidDale schools.
She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 63 years
Doyle Thurston McCoy in 2009. They had two children Janet Ann McCoy Hughes and husband Bob; and Lowell Franklin (Lucky) McCoy; she is survived by her brother Gary Michael (Mike) Cook.
Our mother was loved by many other than her children. She devoted her years on this earth to being a wonderful mother and lady. Her spiritual gift was helping children and anyone, during troubled times making sure they had food, clothing and shelter; to this day she continues to be “Mama” to them and by many who loved her.
Someone very close to our mom was her caregiver Pamela Stone; they adored each other. Pam’s love and extraordinary care made Anne’s remaining years so happy and fulfilled in every way.
We wish to thank the Avalon Hospice team of Jackson for providing quality hospice care and meeting the needs of Anne and our family.
We loved our mom beyond words and she will surely be missed.
