Larry Everett Harper Sr., age 79, of Taylorsville, Georgia, passed away on November 8, 2018. Larry was born at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on January 22, 1939 to the late Grover Harper and Mollie Leonard.
As a native to Atlanta, Larry grew up in and attended school in Cabbagetown along with a lady by the name of Violet Bernice Whitfield. In May of 1959, they married and spent almost forty-four wonderful years together before her passing in 2003.
Larry joined the United States Air Force and served as a military policeman for a few years before beginning his career with the Fulton Cotton Mill. This is where he remained for the next 20+ years before the Cotton Mill closed permanently.
He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and often enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed bowling on leagues with Bernice.
Along with his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Harper and his sister, Joann Stephens.
He is survived by his sons, Larry (Deidra) Harper Jr. and Lance (Evelyn) Harper; daughters, Lynn (Pasquel) Cleveland and Lori (Jeff) Hopson; grandchildren, Randall (Audrey) Rutherford, Christopher (Jessica) Hopson, Destiny Harper, Megan Loudermilk, Johnathan Harpor, Michael Harper, and Edward Green; and great-grandchildren Cadence Hopson and Saphira Rutherford.
