Best known as “Casey” or “Butch” by his friends and family he died at his home in Newport, North
Carolina.
Casey was born on October 13, 1958 to Rev Clyde Brower Case Jr. and Winifred Rivenbark Case in
Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up in Thomasville, North Carolina and graduated from Wake Forrest
University. He was a businessman in Havelock for more than 30 years. Casey was a generous and
witty man who was known and loved by many.
Casey is survived by his wife Melanie Young Case and stepdaughter Madison Stepp of the home;
stepdaughter Jennifer O’Neil and husband Matthew; stepson Joshua Smith and wife Jennifer; and six
step grandchildren whom he loved dearly; his sister-in-law Sheryl Case; niece Jessica Wells; nephew
Joshua Case; four great nieces; and his lifelong friends Wendell Wagner, David Marlowe, and Ms.
Frances Diffee. He was preceded in death by his parents and only sibling Charles Matthew Case.
A service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th at 12:00 pm at Lighthouse Assembly of God in
Havelock with Pastor Jeff Knipple officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 pm the same day. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Casey’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship for Life Church or the charity of your choice.
