March 17, 1927 – November 5, 2018
Our beloved mother was called home to heaven on November 5, 2018. She peacefully left this earth and joined her husband of 67 years, Byron Thomas. Although our hearts are broken, we have been incredibly blessed with their unconditional love and support and are comforted to know they are finally reunited.
Dalyce was born on March 17, 1927 in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Raymond and Fern (Blanton) Henderson. She was the oldest of four children and cherished her siblings – Donald, Junie and Ellen – and many nieces and nephews. She married Byron on March 25, 1949 in New Ross, Indiana and they raised three children, Joe Thomas (wife Karen, daughter Becky), Brenda Bush (husband Laird, daughter Season, sons Ryan and Aaron) and Mary Jane Berklich (husband Paul, son Jonathan). She also leaves behind great grandchildren Natalina, Anthony James and a third due in late Spring.
Dalyce was a quiet adventurer who wasn’t afraid to try new things – motorcycles, camping, running a motel, square dancing and telling stories of the Amish throughout Lancaster County. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had a deep faith, lived a Christian life and made wonderful memories with life-long friends she called family. A fierce competitor, Dalyce also welcomed any opportunity to crush family and friends in cards, all with a big smile.
A celebration of life and interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday, November 12 at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Masonic Charities of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, Office of Gift Planning, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
