Michelle graduated from high school in Missouri, and then married the love of her life, Marvin E. Fisher. Marvin preceded Michelle in passing on February 26, 2008.
Michelle worked for Heartland Home Healthcare for six months, but performed in home human services for 15 years. She was also very involved with her Church, Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ in Kokomo for almost ten years. She was considered by many in the Church to be “the face of the Church.” At Refreshing Springs, Michelle was the president of the greeters, and was also involved with their Feeding the Community program, the Prayer Ministry, and the Singles Ministry. She was also a part of the Church’s Women of Wisdom (WOW).
When Michelle wasn’t participating in a Church activity, she enjoyed going to the movie theater. She was an avid fan of Tyler Perry and Rocky movies. She had also recently learned to sew and spent much of her time knitting. Overall, Michelle was a fun and animated woman who loved the Lord, as well as her children and grandchildren.
Michelle is survived by her son, Emanuel (Kristina) Mason; daughter, Myeca (Charles) Dunlap; brothers, Johnny Mason, Walter Mason, and David (Kimberly) Mason; sister, Joann Sims; grandchildren, Charles Dunlap II, Gabriel Dunlap, Ezekiel Mason, Madison Mason, and AJ Crawford; and great-granddaughter, Miracle Mason. Michelle also leaves several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents and husband, Michelle was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Mason.
There will be a public visitation for Michelle held at Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ in Kokomo on Friday, November 23rd from 4-6 pm, and another visitation on Saturday, November 24th from 11-1. Michelle will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery at a later date.
