Martin Jannise, 87, of Highlands, Texas passed on November 24, 2018. He was born November 9, 1931 in China, Texas to the union of his parents the late Leo and Ada Jannise. Martin is preceded in death by his parents and brother, L.J. Jannise; sister, Mary Jean Barron and grandson, Jimmy Wayne Jannise
Martin enjoyed gardening, welding and cooking. He thoroughly enjoyed taking care of his wife and having family time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was well known for making a big ole pot of chicken and sausage gumbo. Martin was also an avid church goer and member of more than 70 plus years to the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Highlands, Texas.
He survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Jannise; sisters, Georgia Marie Bilnoski and Gracie Forrest; brother, Nelson (Eva) Jannise; children, Martin (Patricia) Jannise, Carol (Ronald) Silliman, Don Jannise and Donna (Daniel) Machala; Grandchildren, Tina Dowdell, Daniel Jannise, Laura Case, Justin Machala, Jessie Machala, Jake Machala and Megan Machala. He had numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers, Daniel Jannise, Dalton Dowdell, Travis Alexander, Brandon Weaver, Kenneth Forrest and Terry Barron.
