Wayne was born in Charleston on January 16, 1958, to the late Hank and Fredia Cobb Kessel. He was a graduate of DuPont High and was the owner and operator of HW Kessel Cemetery Services, Kessel Monument Sales and Marmet Memorial Gardens. Wayne was a faithful member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Kanawha City, where he served at a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister, Karen Sue Price; and several aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 38 years, Chris Kessel; daughter, Cindy McIntyre of Charleston; grandchildren, Grant and Andrew Easter and Timothy McIntyre; brother, Buddy Kessel of Charleston; brothers-in-law, Ron Price, Jim (Edna) Young and Bobby Byers; sisters-in-law, Kathy Ashcraft and Becky Byers; nieces and nephews, Ronnie Allen (Heather) Price, Brian Price, Matt Ashcraft (Patsy Stoots), Jason Ashcraft (Karli Sigmon), Nick and Andrew Kern, Robert Byers and Elisabeth Byers (Rafa); and a very close and special friend, Charlotte Totten.
The funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Kanawha City, with Pastors Gary Hall and Joshua Hall officiating. The entombment will follow the service at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the Church.
