Richard Eugene Bonawitz

Richard Eugene Bonawitz, 79, was born to Henry Bonawitz and Betty Kimball, deceased, in Kansas . Brothers and sisters in this blended family are, Julie Wuthrick, Robert Bonawitz, Steve and Dennis Kimbell, Pat Metcalf and Sharon Dykeman. The family lived in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Richard was a member of the United States Navy from 1956-1960 and served on the aircraft carrier, Lexington CVA 16. He married Joan Regier in December of 1967. Richard worked in Linen Supply most of his career years traveling in Northern Colorado and Wyoming as a Sales and Service manager being dedicated to, and enjoying his work immensely. He was a life-long learner being an avid reader and enjoyed water skiing and ice-skating. He was a good father to their two sons, devoted husband, and loved grandfather of four, Kyle and Logan, (Brian and Sandi, Loveland) Casey and Brent , (Kelley and Vickie Bonawitz of Tennessee). He was an ambassador at Foundations Church of Loveland.

The family is thankful for God's grace each step of the way and for the wonderful Pathways guidance and assistance given in the ending months of his extended health battle. He left this world with his family bedside him at the Hospice Care Center. He was strong, resilient and a productive member of the work force and was most supportive of his work team, friends and family. He lived his life with its health challenges with vigor while at the same time with grace. His love of God, family, and dry sense of humor will be missed.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice or Foundations Church in Loveland.
