Shreveport, LA – Services celebrating the life of Barbara Seal Chandler will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Brother Park Robertson and Brother Billy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Barbara was born in Bogalusa, LA on October 17, 1933 to T.C. and Viola Knight. She graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1951. She attended Bossier Parish Community College and Northwestern School of Nursing. She was a lifelong resident of the Shreveport-Bossier area. Barbara was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Shreveport and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star Fair Park Chapter 18.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.C. and Viola Knight; first husband of 41 years and father of her children, Almon Dan Seal and her second husband, Harold B. Chandler; sisters, Mattie Lee Thompson, Ernestine Shelter and Grace Guilott and brothers, Fielding Knight and Richard Knight.
Barbara is survived by her son, Bo Seal and daughter, Dana Carter and husband Robert of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Heather Juneau and Josh Van Sandford, Trae Neely and wife Suzanne, Rebecca Crabtree and husband Brandon and Almon Seal, III; great grandchildren, Jaydan Juneau, Jaylee Juneau, Arleigh Neely, Conner Neely, Jonathan Crabtree, Natalie Crabtree, Lilith Crabtree, Dixie Seal and David Martinez and sister, Faye Spencer and many nieces, nephews, extended family and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Robert Carter, Almon Seal III, Trae Neely, Brandon Crabtree and Jaydan Juneau.
The family would like to thank Hospice of East Texas, Rachel Lemons, Dr. Gunter and Jamie Kennedy for the exceptional care and compassion given to Barbara.
