Mrs Willie Mae Ford Blackwelder, 103 of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. Born on May 12, 1915 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late William and Frances Clark Ford. Educated in the Cabarrus County Schools, she was a lifelong member of Lutheran Chapel Church in China Grove. She enjoyed gardening and sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She was a good cook and enjoyed making cakes and pies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 70 years, Herman Blackwelder and her daughter; June Blackwelder Sechler. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Carolyn Curtis and son Rev. Glenn Blackwelder. Additionally, she was survived by her grandchildren; Lynn CarMichael (James), Susan Campbell (Hugh), Julie Curtis, Martin Curtis (Caitlin), Anne Hall (Jeff), Frederick Sechler Jr. and Amy Campbell (Vance). Also surviving her are her great grandchildren; Will Campbell, Elizabeth Campbell, Jack Campbell, Katie CarMichael, James CarMichael Jr., Matthew Hall and Trevor Hall. A gathering of her friends will be on Sunday from 3:30 till 5:00 at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks Nursing Home , 820 Klumac Rd. Salisbury, NC.
