Jules Morton Price 89, a longtime resident of Chestnut Ridge passed away on November 30, 2018. Born in the Bronx, NY on January 5, 1929 to Dr. Leon and Mae Peisachowitz, he was salutatorian of his class at Taft High School and graduated in 1951 from City College of New York with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was licensed professional engineer, a member of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of Mensa. He retired in 1993 as Vice President and Chief Engineer of the P.J. Carlin Construction Company. Throughout his long career in the construction industry he worked on such notable projects as the Major Deegan Expressway and Shea Stadium.
In 1952 he married Nettie (nee Liss) and over the next 66-years they raised a large family and travelled the world together. Jules and Nettie have been active members of the Chestnut Ridge community since 1964. Mr. Price was a founding member of the William P. Faist Ambulance Corp, a certified EMT Instructor, a member of the Chestnut Ridge Planning Board and later served as Trustee on the Chestnut Ridge Village Board.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Richard (Dena) of Morganville NJ and Stephen (Ellen) of Chestnut Ridge, his grandchildren Scott (Mercedes), Sharon (Matt), Michelle, Taryn (Colin), Ian and Marc, and his great grandchildren Gabriella and Grayson. He is also survived by his sister Carol Jacobs of Chestnut Ridge.
Funeral services will be held Sunday December 2, 2018 11:00 AM at the chapel of Gates of Zion Cemetery 670 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY. Interment will follow. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Price’s memory to the William P. Faist Ambulance Corp.
