Santos loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his youth he was an avid boxer, pool player, and swimmer. He thoroughly enjoyed watching sports, most importantly the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks. He made his living as a butcher. He was a devout Catholic who attended church regularly. Santos was born in Beeville,Texas on June 4, 1935, to the late Gregorio and Petra Padilla before moving to his final home in Dallas,Texas where he passed away at the age of 83 on November 30, 2018. He remained strong and fought to the end until God called him home. Santos is preceded in death by his son, Sidney Joe Padilla and daughter, Patricia Padilla. He is survived by his brother from Rockport, Texas, Leonard Padilla ; his loving wife of 63 years Elizabeth Padilla; his sons Sandy, Santos Samuel Jr. and wife Lisa, Simson Saul and wife Esmeralda, and Simon Peter and Robin Padilla Groce; his daughter Sarah Ann Martinez and husband Moises; his grandchildren Christopher, Elena Cardoza, Graciela, Gabriela, Nicole Banda, Anthony, David Martinez, Michael Martinez, Angelica Martinez, and Elizabeth Martinez; his great grandchildren, Marco, Marisa, Jaelyn, Christopher Jr., Isaiah, and Juliana. The rosary will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church on Wednesday December 5th at 7 pm. Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church on Thursday December 6th at 11 am and will be followed by the committal at Cavalry Hill.
