Benjamin Edward Ream, 80 of Lancaster, passed away on Monday December 3rd, 2018 at the Pickering House. Ben was born on July 2nd, 1938 in Massillon, Ohio. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Club and the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association; as well as a past President of the Farm Bureau of Massillon. He served his country in the United States Navy. Ben’s true passion was farming. He loved being outdoors and working on his farm in Massillon. Ben was also a member of the Church of Christ and attended New Life Christian Center in Lancaster.
Ben is survived by his wife, Marlene Hurst-Ream; daughter, Tana (Charlie) Weisgarbar; son Benjamin Paul (Kim) Ream; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-children, Derek Hurst, Dwayne (Gloria) Hurst, Darren (Amy) Hurst, and Dannelle (Jim) Ashley; 13 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren; his sister, Carol and brother, Bob.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna; brother, Bill; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at 1PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Gary Keller officiating. Military Honors will be held following the services. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 5PM-8PM at the funeral home. Dignity Cremation is to follow the services.
