Harv was born January 11, 1940 in Sugar Land, Texas, to Olivia (Ganzer) and Emil Stavinoha. His first job (at the age of 12) was delivering newspapers in a huge area, on his bicycle. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated in Rosenberg, Texas in 1958 and immediately enlisted the Army. He entered as a private and was honorably discharged in 1960 as a sergeant. After leaving the Army, he attended Wharton County Junior College, where he met Barbara Benton. After dating for a year, they married and
moved to Beaumont so he could attend Lamar Tech. Their daughter, Stacie, was born there in 1965. Next up, was a move to Houston, where he became a Sales Rep for Kraft Foods which took them to Bryan until his retirement after 30 years of service. Their son, Chance, was born in Bryan in 1968. After retiring, Harv wasn’t ready to sit around and watch TV. He did numerous things before becoming a school bus driver for BISD for the last 10 years.
Harv loved many things...hunting, grilling and entertaining, fishing, spending time with family & friends and playing cards and dominoes. Harv was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Stacie; and his son Chance.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara; three grandsons, Ryan, Zane and Kaiser; many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends.
He will be dearly missed.
