Anne was born in Norwich Connecticut on July 17, 1922 to Nancy (Lorello) and Joseph Longo. She married Emil Michael Riffon on May 26, 1948. She worked as a Supervisor/ Driver’s License Specialist for the State of Florida for many years until she retired in 1988. After retirement and until very recently, she was an active volunteer with many groups, including Westside Hospital and the Park City Library and Voter Checklist. She joined St. David’s Church’s as a founding member in 1972 and was a past president of the Women’s Club and helped at many church fundraisers throughout the years, including the annual Carnivals and weekly Bingo games.
Anne is preceded in death by her husband Emil Michael Riffon on January 23, 2003.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Louise and Norman Bessette of Georgia, Thomas and Christine Kennedy- Riffon of Vermont and Julie Riffon-Keith and Kevin Keith of New Hampshire; her sister Louise Myers of Davie, Florida; her grandchildren: Paul Bessette and Emily Bessette of Georgia, Megan Brown of California and Zachary Brown of Washington and great-grandchildren: Tabitha Bessette and Paul Bessette,4th of Georgia.
Anne loved playing cards, bingo, her many friends and was devoted to her family, especially her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She always looked at the positive in a person or a situation and will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. David’s Church, 3900 South University Drive, Davie Florida. Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens of Davie Florida.
