Gladys Elizabeth Kiss of Memphis, Tennessee passed away December 3, 2018, she was 96. Gladys was born on May 12, 1922 in Newark, New Jersey to Jacob and Jennie Keisling. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, Lt. John William Kiss (USNR) and her brother John Jacob Keisling of Page, AZ. Gladys and John Kiss were married in 1944 during WWII, while he was serving in the US Navy. She continued her support of his military career moving from duty station to station until his retirement in 1966. During these years, she was the consummate military wife, homemaker and loving mother in every way. She also served for several years as the executive secretary/treasurer for the Mid-South Chapter of the Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors. She was a dedicated member of Park Avenue Church of Christ. She loved bible study, reading, sewing, crocheting, craft projects, and most of all cooking for her family, church members and friends. She is survived by her sons, John David Kiss (Anna), Richard Douglas Kiss (Linda), and David Barry Kiss (Denise), her grandchildren, Sean Kiss (Bridget), Ashleigh Kiss, Alex Kiss (Rachel), and Devon Kiss, and three great-grandchildren, Josiah, Jordan and Sawyer Kiss. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11th from 1 to 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee.
