Kenneth Fielding Childs, age 51, was surrounded by his loved ones when he returned home to our Heavenly Father on Friday, December 8th, 2018, at 3:55 pm from his home in Fruitland, Idaho. He fought a one and a half year battle with occularmelanomia and although his time here was cut too short, his pain is no longer.
Kenneth was born on March 6, 1967 in Cedar City, Utah to Dr. Kenneth and JoAnne (Hubbard) Childs and was 1 of 8 children. Kenneth started working as a superintendent at the age of 26 and fell in love with being the brains behind constructing buildings; to later watching them thrive with success and productivity. In 2008, Kenneth married his loving wife Cindy Lynn Childs, and together they cherished 6 children. Building industrial structures was not the only creativity Kenneth had a passion for. He enjoyed building model craft airplanes and then successfully watching them take flight and being the one in control of it all. The outdoors was a second home to Kenneth where he took pleasure in fly fishing, shooting firearms with his children, and creating lasting memories around a campfire. Kenneth had a way of winning any argument that was presented to him and always ending the discussion in hysterical laughter. If you have never heard the peg leg joke, now would be a good time to ask his wife or one of his children for a good laugh. Kenneth’s strength for life and love was admirable and kept fighting till his final days here on Earth. He was a man of his word and would give the shirt off of his back to any stranger that needed it more. Kenneth believed in never giving up as well as never taking life too seriously either.
Kenneth’s life will be carried on through his wife, 6 children, 3 grandchildren, future grandchildren to come, his 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and everyone else’s life that Kenneth has touched and left a mark on. Kenneth believed that you could be lived through the lessons that you taught others and he did his very best to teach valuable lessons in life to those who needed them. Although Kenneth’s human life has ended and his eternal life has begun, he left his own mark on the world through the buildings he built and the lives he influenced greatly. Whether that was through his smile, laugh, hard lessons, or incredible strength he will be greatly missed.
