Vivian Richards Mincey, 97, of Charlotte passed away December 18, 2018 and stepped into the loving arms of her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Vivian was born in Rustburg, VA on June 4, 1921. She was the wife for nearly 50 years of the late Leon Miller Mincey and was the daughter of her late parents, Ivel Lawrence Richards and Garland Monroe Richards. Two sisters, Vera Richards Pittard and Virginia Richards and a brother, Harold Richards, preceded her in death.
A resident of Charlotte for over 67 years, Vivian was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a teacher’s aide for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She was a charter member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and known as a tireless, dedicated and loving mother and grandmother of family and friends who loved deeply and was deeply loved.
Vivian is survived by a sister, Vonda Richards Bean of Charlotte, three sons: Michael Mincey (Vicki) of W. Jefferson, NC, Donald Mincey (Dianne) of Tampa, FL and Russell Mincey of Charlotte; six grandchildren: Tyler Mincey (Keeley) of San Francisco, CA, Rachel Mincey of Tampa, FL, Brett Mincey of Concord, NC, Zachary Mincey, Hannah Mincey and Peyton Mincey of Huntersville, NC.
