She was born in Springfield, July 3, 1951 the daughter of Peter and Ruth (Cantrall) Kuizin. Sandra married Jerry McKenna in Springfield, June 28, 1985 and he survives.
Also surviving are her two daughters; Jennifer Blisset and Dana (Michael) Vespa, her five grandchildren: Jasmyn and Rosa McKenna, Sterling Baldwin, Grace and Mallory Vespa, all of Springfield, her sister, Trish Sutherland of Springfield, and her brother, Peter “Bub” (Sandy) Kuizin of Los Angeles, CA.
Sandra retired in 2011 from Milliken University in Decatur, IL, as a professor of Literature. She was also an author. Sandra found great joy reading and was well known as she spent many hours at Barnes and Noble. She was a member of the Unity Church of Practical Christianity in Springfield.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm until time of a funeral service at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL. Teacher Pat Meeter will officiate. Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory following the service.
