Mrs. Haynes passed away Thursday. December 20, 2018 at her home in Saks.
Rosemary was a life-long, active member of the First Baptist Church of Saks, where she taught Sunday school and AWANAS for children, sang in the choir, and participated in WMU along with the Golden Jewels, in addition to serving on various church committees. She was a 1972 graduate of Saks High School and spent her entire life calling Anniston and the Saks community her home.
“Rose”, as she was often called, worked for 35 years in service to both Saks Middle School (15 years) and the Calhoun County Board of Education (20 years). She was respected and cherished by all students, faculty, and parents. She always had a welcoming smile for anyone that came through the middle school. The remaining twenty years of her career were spent as the first person you met as you entered the office of the Calhoun County Board of Education. She would make each person’s visit to the board office a pleasant experience. If she could not help you then she would direct you to the person you needed to see so that your visit was a productive one. No one she met, ever left the office with a frown on their face. Above all, Rosemary emulated the behavior of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with humility, selflessness, unending devotion, and unconditional love.
Mrs. Haynes is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Joseph Ferragina; mother Hazel Ruby Ferragina; sister, Gail Haynie and husband Allan Haynie; brother, Gordon Ferragina.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, George Lamar Haynes; sons Brandon Corey Haynes and Preston Tyler Haynes (Jennifer) of Kimberly, AL; grandchildren, Ciara Rhianon Niles Kirk, Abbey Reece Haynes, Chloe Elise Haynes, and Paxton Cole Haynes; great-grandchildren, Corbin Hendrix and Anslee Rose Turner; siblings, Joe Ferragina (Kay), Gina Kennedy (Reed) of Blacksburg, VA, and sister-in-law, Betty Ann Harwell; nieces, Tara (Jim) Wagner, Tammy (Bryant) Hiskey, and Tracy Haynie, all of Houston, TX.; Yolanda (Steve) Heiberger of Birmingham, AL, Paige (Bill) Bainbridge of Nashville, TN, R.J.
