BLYTHEWOOD - A memorial service for Oscar Torres, 63, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Torres passed away unexpectedly, Friday morning, December 21, 2018. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on February 14, 1955, he was a son of Petra Gonzalez and the late Luis Torres.
Oscar was a 1973 graduate of Spring Valley High School and also Midlands Technical College. He was co-owner of Brickside Homes, LLC with his business partner of 31 years, Gregg Douglas. Oscar was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He loved taking trips to the beach, going to the casino and the mountains; parties and cookouts with family and friends; and music, especially rock ‘n roll. He was a former member of Breath of Life Lutheran Church. Above all, he loved his wife and his three girls, but his grandchildren were his world.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife of 43 years, Brenda Torres; daughters, Kristen Torres Locklear (Adam), Amber Torres (Joe) and Brittney Torres Gibbons (Danny) all of Blythewood; grandchildren, McKenna and Evan Bruce and Jenna, Sadie and Cruz Gibbons; brother, Luis Torres (Netta) of Blythewood; sisters, Norma Casarez, Marisol Rice (Wayne) and Myrna Shelley (Kendal) all of Blythewood; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
