Mack James Taylor, 83, was received into God’s loving arms December 26, 2018. Mack was born in Barney, Georgia to Derry and Haskell Yancey Taylor. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 49 years Susan Taylor, brothers Jack Taylor, Bill Taylor, John Emmett Taylor; sisters Francis Simpson and Betty Jean Williamson.
Mack proudly served in the United States Air Force before his fifty-year career in commercial heating and air with Greene Plumbing and Heating. He never met a stranger, was always ready to offer a bit of country wisdom and was quick with a good joke.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Steve Taylor (Sheryl); daughter Cathy Lord (Curtis); grandchildren Joy Yancey, Brett Taylor, Leah Lord, and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sister Mary Alice Griffin, sisters-in-law Anne Rehberg and Dee Taylor, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many treasured friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will occur following the service. Burial will take place at Mount Zion Campground Cemetery in Morven, Georgia on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
