Miss you mzee. Especially at this holiday season, many of which I spent at your house with your family where we even celebrated your and Jim's birthdays. MUCH LOVE!!

Jim, quite simply i will miss you, our hot chocolates and chats. Im so glad to have met you through Pickering College over 18 years ago, and even more glad that our visits continued regularly, right up until Christmas. All the best my friend. 

My deepest condolences to the Spring family.  I met Jim through Pickering College, and through that lens was privileged to get to know a little of a man of humour, canny intelligence, kindness, generosity and deep loyalty.  He truly was a wonderful example of "the greatest generation." May your memories sustain you at this sad time.

Chad, Hannah, Evan, and I were planning on visiting you today to celebrate your 90th birthday but instead we are remembering you and all the joy you brought to us.  The kids miss you so much.
I remember the day I met you.  I was 6 years old.  Over the next 32 years you became one of my best friends;  like a grandfather to me.   I have so many wonderful memories of the 10 years my family and I spent on the farm.
Snowmobiles, quads, the cabin, coyotes, hot air balloons, cows, chickens, sheep,and your favourite, the lambs.  You told me a story of one of your favourite memories when a lamb was born one evening and walked right up to you and sat in your lap.
One year when you were planning your vegetable garden, you asked me what kind of potatoes I like and I told you “smashed “.  You laughed and laughed and told me you couldn’t plant smashed potatoes.
I remember riding in the front-end loader and picking apples.  I remember shearing sheep.  Rescuing baby raccoons from the tool shed.  Building furniture with you.    Doing Sunday morning crossword puzzles with you.  
I cherish every moment that I got to spend with you. 
I will miss you so much but I am at peace knowing that you are as well.  I love you.  We love you.

My deepest condolences to the Spring family at the passing of Jim. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim and Buster through our mutual friends Lisa and Doug. I always looked forward to my visits to see Buster as it meant I knew I would have a wonderful visit with Jim. We talked about our mutual love of farming and he always had one more story to tell. 
I always left his home laughing at some joke he would have delivered with perfect timing. 
Jim will be greatly missed but his stories and his wit will live on in my memories. 
Rest In Peace Jim I will remember you warmly.

I am very saddened to hear of Jim's passing.  I am thankful that I had the opportunity to meet your Mom and Dad and support them through your Mom's journey.  
Jim was someone special to me.  I was enjoyed our cups of tea & treats and visits.  You Dad and I often shared a mutual interest in a good mystery/police procedural and I even tried to convert him into an Ian Rankin fan.  Mostly though I just enjoyed listening to his stories and his company.  I don't know if your Dad ever told you about the time he was picking up Jean at the day program in Newmarket and Buster locked them out of the car.  We would always chuckle when remembering that story and I think Buster would always look guilty and even smile a bit.  Your Dad will be missed. 
During our visits, which continued after your Mom had passed, Jim would at some point turn to me in our conversation and say:  "So tell me Andrea, are they ever going to stop this disease (Alzheimer)? "  He was always keen to hear what we were doing to support families in York Region and  what new research was on the horizon. The Alzheimer Society of York Region thanks you for remember us at this difficult time.    

I am flooded with memories of this lovely man. Summers at Georgian Bay playing crib , early morning swims to Gull Rock, visits by boat with the Benneyworth clan and the famous  card games which were highly debated as to the actual winner. Christmas's at the Aurora farm and always the catch  and release of various squirrels into the wild. Always a kindred soul.
 
What I remember the most was his superior humour and great kindness.

I hope you are now with beloved Jeannie.

My deepest condolences to the Spring family at this very difficult time.  I am so saddened to hear about the loss of my friend Jim. I will miss our many cherished visits where we talked about life, laughed a lot and at times shared some tears.  Your memory will be with me forever.

  Playing liars dice with Jim was a normal event at our home when I was  a kid. Alot of laughs. I should have taking a lot of his advice. He was very nice man.

I have fond memories of rowing over to your island in the early morning to retrieve a block of ice from your ice house to keep our milk cool at our campsite on Ship Island. Mother (nee Smith) always held her Spring cousins in special regard. Many thanks!

Visiting with Jim was always a highlight for me! I had the pleasure of getting know Jim over many years when I was CEO of Southlake Foundation. His sense of humour and his fantastic stories about growing up in Toronto and Newmarket/Aurora were so entertaining and we always found an interesting coincidence between our lives.
