Jim was born Nov. 19, 1955, in Indianapolis, to Arthur Leland Stuckey and Ann Wagoner Stuckey. Jim grew up in Poland, Ohio.
He graduated from Bucknell University with a BSBA Degree in 1978. Among his joys at Bucknell were playing rugby and the DU Fraternity where he made lifelong friends.
He moved to Tampa, Fla. in October of 1980, joining Livingston’s Office Furniture as VP of Sales and Marketing. During his 17 year career, he drove astronomical revenue to earn Livingston’s recognition as one of INC 500’s fastest growing companies. It was during this time that Jim became President of Tampa Rotary achieving prestigious recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow. Jim then spent the next 15 years achieving success in Director roles at Colliers Arnold and World of Beer, sourcing commercial real estate transactions.
Jim was a philanthropist for organizations such as Stuckey Family Interfaith Child Development Center in Alliance, Ohio and the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. Over the past four years, Jim renewed his love of travel and continued to enthusiastically support the TB Lightning and the Bucs (sometimes!). While he was extremely devoted to and enjoyed his family and friends, he could be very content reading and watching sports with his feline companions.
Jim was predeceased by his true love and wife of 32 years, Patricia Stuckey, and father and mother, Arthur and Ann.
He is survived by his sister, Lynn Trau (Bill); brother David Stuckey (Linda); niece Megan McGill (Scott); nephews Scott Trau (Jennifer), Mark Stuckey (Whitney), and Mike Stuckey (Karen); and also five great-nieces.
The family is requesting that memorial donations to the Stuckey Family Interfaith Child Development Center, 205 S. Union St., Alliance OH 44601, in lieu of flowers. http://www.stuckeyinterfaithcdc.org/
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 12690 N 56th St. in Temple Terrace.
