Funeral Services will be Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2019 at 2 o’clock at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Chapel from 1 o’clock until the time of service. Betty Jane was born September 2, 1930 in Liberty, NC, a daughter of the late R. William Johnson and Dezza Garrett Johnson. She worked for the Department of Defense, US Army, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved playing cards with her granddaughters, and also enjoyed playing bridge and golf with her friends. Betty Jane loved animals, the beach, fishing, and jumping the waves at Ocean Isle. “Oh Boy!”
Betty Jane leaves behind her two sons, Connie Dean Cain, Jr. of Georgetown, SC and William “Bill” Dewey Cain of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; two granddaughters, Katelyn Marie Cain of North Charleston, SC and Kristyn Deanna Cain of Georgetown, SC; nephew, Barry Johnson (Penny) of Liberty; and niece, Kay Davis (Mitchell) of Climax, NC. “Grandmama” loved playing with her great-granddaughter, Memory Jane. She is predeceased by her husband, Connie Dean Cain, Sr.; two brothers, Joseph Franklin Johnson and Charles William Johnson; two sisters, Faye Elizabeth Kirkman and Annie Novella “Pug” Snider; and her best furry friend, Little Bit.
Her family would like to say a very special thank you to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, her neighbor and best friend Nancy, Kay, Susan, Michelle and Jane.
