James Jerry Gilmore, 74, of Jasper, passed away January 5, 2018, at his home. Family will receive friends January 9, 2018, from 12 until 2 pm. At Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be at Boldo Cemetery. Larry Sherer and Adam Bolton will officiate.
Jerry Gilmore, also known as Kawkaw, was a hardworking man, He was self-employed for 47 years as the owner of Gilmore’s Reclamation and Gilmore’s Feed and Seed. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had many friends and never met a stranger. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded by his parents, James Clinton and Carrie Francis Gilmore; two infant siblings; daughter-in-laws, Denise Gilmore and Tammy Gilmore.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sherlene Gilmore; sons, Gregory Scott Gilmore and Jeffrey Landon Gilmore; sisters, Delores Calloway and Reba Mitchell; grandchildren, Bethany Byars, Joseph Byars, Hunter Gilmore, Malea McCain, Mason McCain, Trent Gilmore, and Garrett Gilmore.
Pallbearers will be Mason McCain, Joseph Byars, Jay Hyche, Jason Akins, Hunter Gilmore, Trent Gilmore, Garrett Gilmore, and Barry Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Boldo Cemetery in honor of Jerry, or your favorite charity.
