Glenda Bernice Stevens-Benefield was born in Warren, Arkansas on January 2, 1928. Glenda was the first child of Gladys Edna Harris and Avelton Harris. She was a long term resident of Portland, Oregon.
Glenda was an enduring member of Allen Temple C.M.E. Church in Portland, Oregon where she always displayed an uplifting spirit of service, love and kindness to all she touched. She served faithfully as a foodservice worker for various church programs.
Glenda transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband Sam Benefield; brother, Arthur “Buddy” Harris; parents, Avelton Harris and Gladys Edna Harris.
Glenda leaves to cherish her memory, cousins Addie Wallace of Portland, Oregon, LT Turnage, of Layton, Utah, Kathrina L.Turnage, of Los Angeles, California and Teressa G. Jefferson, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sandra McDaniel, Jordan Davidson and Cody Davidson, Diane Cain and Dwayne Cain, Godmother to Jeannetta Byrd and a number of family and friends, including her caretaker, Bonnie Richmond.
As many of you may know, Glenda loved her cup of earl grey tea. In memory of Glenda, we ask that you have a warm cup of tea and remember the wonderful memories you shared with Glenda.
