Mrs. Jenkins was born on February 7th, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Harold Wade Jenkins on March 22, 1942 and together they raised two daughters. Mrs. Jenkins aspired to be in the world of fashion and retired from Macy’s where her fashion advice was sought after. She was also one of the founding members of the Akron Chapter of Jack and Jill of America so she could insure her children and others of color were exposed to cultural experiences. Mrs. Jenkins was an active member of St. Sebastian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Therese (James) Wade and Christi (Joel) Cornette ; grandchildren, Justin (Rachael) Wade, Joshua (Sofi) Wade, Jordan (Shae Peppler) Cornette, Jonathan (Kristin) Cornette; great grandchildren, Carter Wright, Maya Wade, Miles Wade, Caleb Wade; sister Janet LeFlore; nephews Christopher LeFlore, Michael LeFlore, Vincent Walker. Mrs. Jenkins also leaves behind many beloved friends that she adopted as her own family. Her class, dignity and love will be missed for eternity.

Visitation will be this Friday, January 11th, 11:00-12:00, at Rose Hill Funeral Home 3653 W Market St. Akron, OH; where the Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM. Entombment Rose Hill Burial Park.
