Peggy Ann Poe, 75, passed away while sur¬rounded by family Jan. 7, 2019, in Centralia. Peggy was born July 23, 1943, in Onalaska, Wash., to Bonnie (Van¬Cleve) and Fountain Butcher. She grew up in the Onalaska area with her parents and two brothers, Jerry and Gary. Peggy was later blessed with six of her own chil¬dren.
She spent the last 20 years residing in Grand Mound with her companion, Brian Waltrip. Peggy and Brian met at National Frozen Foods, where she eventually retired from after over 20 years as an employee.
Peggy was a collector of all things, her favorites being chickens, spoons, stones and antiques. She spent her days at thrift shops, bazaars and anywhere she could buy some¬thing purple. Peggy loved to be out of the house, spending time with her loved ones and enjoyed being the life of the party. She looked forward to her favor¬ite yearly events, such as the Apple Festival, Thrash n' Bee, Packwood flea marts and the Garlic Festival. She will be greatly missed by many.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry; and son, Steve Cherry.
She is survived by her brother, Gary; children, Bill Cherry of Oregon, Virginia (Rick) Lyons of Onalaska, John (Angela) Robertson of Napavine, Jim Robertson of Puyallup and Thresia (Kevin) Bray of Rochester; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is scheduled Jan. 26, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Camas Room, located at the Lucky Eagle Hotel in Rochester.
