He passed away at the age of 73, at 10:24 p.m. surrounded by his family in his home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Truth Deliverance Center, Davenport. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service.
Frank was born to the parents of Carl Elliott McQuay Sr. and Alva Dean (Miller) McQuay. He was one of nine children. Pastor Frank McQuay Sr. did his schooling in Frankford & Bowling Green, Missouri. He was a High School Phenom, decorated with many accomplishments in sports. Frank McQuay has records that are still standing to this very day, pretty incredible being that he graduated from Bowling Green High School over 55 years ago. In his senior year he scored 53 points in one game, only playing 3 quarters of that game. In his endeavors with baseball, he was invited to play in Busch Stadium (Home of the St. Louis Cardinals) with the all-star team for the entire state of Missouri.
Frank McQuay served proudly for the United States of America in the Army. He was enlisted September 22, 1970 and stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He served for six years as a sharp shooter, ending that career on September 21, 1976.
Pastor McQuay has been pastoring about 40 years, starting out with Church of the Devine Truth in Rock Island. More recently he founded Truth Deliverance Center in Davenport, Iowa on Brady Street in 2010. Along with other ministries, he did Jail Ministry for over 35 years, 21 of those years with his wife, Connie McQuay.
He worked at John Deere for 28 years as a Receiving’s Clerk. He retired from there and then went and worked for Genesis as a delivery driver for 10 years.
He leaves to honor his memory, his wife, Connie McQuay from Davenport, Iowa, his children: Regina McQuay from Columbia, Missouri, William Frank McQuay Jr. and his wife, Marcia McQuay, Ronald McQuay, and Anthony McQuay and his wife, Neda McQuay all from Davenport, Iowa, Billy Wheeler and his wife, Joyce Wheeler from Blue Grass, Iowa, Charlene Williams and her husband, Carl Williams from St. Louis, Missouri, Gina Heinz and Shauna Stock both from Davenport, Iowa as well, sisters, Eva McDowell and her husband, LeRoy McDowell from Davenport, Iowa and Dorothy Bell from Hannibal, Missouri, and brother, Roy McQuay and his wife , Beverly McQuay from Vandalia, Missouri, and a host of grandchildren, along with three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James McQuay, Carl Elliott “June” McQuay Jr. and George Robert McQuay; and sisters, Leila McQuay and Joyce Ann McQuay Clark.
He will forever be known as a great husband, great father, and friend. A wise teacher of the Word of God and faithful steward over what God had entrusted him with. He will be forever missed by us all.
