Aldine “Jackie” Benjamin, Age 91, passed away Jan. 3, 2019, at home in Phoenix, AZ. Jackie was a self-made woman who’s beauty was only matched by her ambitious drive. She was always dressed nicely and made sure to it that her appearance was at its best. She married Herbert Sheets and had a daughter, Gail. Jackie was a hard worker and after her daughter, Gail turned 5, she returned to the workforce to pursue her career. She found office work next door to a service station, where she met her late husband, Jack Benjamin. When they married, Jackie gained four more children, Dale, Cindy, Marsha and John Charles. Jackie and Jack started their own Mobil service station business that eventually grew to a chain of 5. Later they sold the station business and raised an Otasco Store in Goddard, Kansas. Together they put in long hours and created a successful business and life they had sought for. They reached their goals and were able to provide comforts for themselves and their children. When it was time to retire, they built their dream home in Beaver Lake, Arkansas. The highlight of their retirement was centered around boating, water skiing and fishing with their family and friends who would vacation there. After tragedy struck and a fire claimed their home, they bought the home next door. They loved Beaver Lake so much they decided to build a new home there and stayed until they moved to the Phoenix Area. After Jack passed away, Jackie loved playing bridge and visiting her friend in Laughlin to play video poker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Jack; brother, Robert “Bob” Lipsey, and son, John Charles; and the family cat, Misty. She is survived by her children, Gail (Charles) Welliver, Dale Benjamin, Cindy Walter, and Marsha Dust; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her sisters-in-law, Sherry Lipsey and Helen Sullins. Jackie's Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Sat. Jan. 12, 2019, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley Phoenix, 1510 E.
