Alan was one of two children of Edna Dalzell Weaver and the late Alfred Weaver.
Alan graduated the University of Connecticut with a BA Degree in Liberal Arts. He created and edited columns for his school’s newspaper named “Storrs After Dark.” Mr. Weaver received his Communications MA at Fairfield University.
He was self-employed, teaching computer literacy and skills including social media to businesses and individuals. He was the owner of the Big Picture, providing on-line presence and software training. Weaver served as an Adjunct Professor of Business and Technology at Housatonic
Community College since 1997, Instructor of Technology and Business at the Yonkers Public Library, Westport Senior Center, and Instructor Greenwich, CT, Continuing Education.
Alan was an avid swimmer, bike rider, and photographer as well as BBQ chef, especially at the marina where he enjoyed his weekends on the boat.
Alan’s travels with friend Len took them to numerous parts of continental USA, Alaska, Canada, Rome, Assisi, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Kenya, Africa. Alan’s worldly travel photos were always shared with friends and family.
Alan leaves behind his mother Edna, his sister Ellen (James) Sutherland Sr., two nephews, James
Sutherland Jr. and Jonathan (Kathleen) Sutherland, and their son Jack, and many cousins, longtime friends, and students whose lives he touched over the years.
Services: Saturday, January 26th, 1- 4:30 pm at Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St,
