Narciso J. Gelats, 88, of Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on January 9, 2019. Born in Havana, Cuba, Narciso was the son of Juan Gelats Botet and Adolfina Solis Gelats. He received degrees in accounting and law from the University of Havana. He was the last president of the Banco Gelats in Havana, founded by his grandfather Narciso Gelats Durall in 1876. A 59-year resident of Palm Beach, he was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Narciso was preceded in death by his son Juan F. Gelats, who passed away in 2008, and his sisters Adolfina Gelats Carvajal and Cristina Gelats Garcia-Tuñon. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Margarita Rabel Gelats; four children and their spouses, Margie and William Connors, Cristina Gelats, Jose R. Gelats, and Ana Maria and Ismael Montes; and six grandchildren, Maggie, Anna, Will, and Kate Connors, and Nicholas and Ana Montes. Services were private.
