Michael D. Splan

Born December 17, 1947 to Francis Splan and Oleva (Schoefter) Splan in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died on January 4, 2018 in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

Mike was preceded in death by his Parents, Francis and Oleva; Brother, Thomas Paul Splan; Niece, Elizabeth Gast.

He is survived by Sister, Sheila Gast (Norman); Brother, Stephen (Delia) Splan; Nieces, Christine Paben (Scott), Amy Struzyk (Johnny), Mary Gast Grafnitz (Paul Knox); Nephews, Thomas Gast, Jesse Splan, Nicholas (Rebecca) Splan; and several Great- and great-great- Nieces and Nephews.

Mike lived in Minneapolis for most of his life. He was curious and mischievous as a child. He joined the Navy when he was a teenager and it was there that he learned to be a boiler operator, his life long career. Mike worked at the University of Minnesota, where he gained a love of Minnesota Gopher football. Mike was generous and giving and quick to volunteer when people needed help or a ride. He was loved not only by his family, but also by his friends and by many people in his church parish of St Bridget's. He will be greatly missed.
