Dorothy Eason Freeman, 90, of Longview passed away January 16, 2019. Dorothy was born August 25, 1928 in Shreveport, LA to Ralph Spurgeon Briggs and Mildred Elleta Van Horne Briggs. She graduated high school in Vivian, LA. Dorothy loved being around family, going to family reunions and being together for birthdays and having birthday parties. She loved talking to her daughters on the telephone, being with her grandchildren, looking for antiques and word find puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters: Donna Gail Eason Heck of Broken Arrow, OK and Sherrie Beth Eason Williams and her husband Joey of Bryan College Station; grandchildren: Shane Heck and his wife Jennifer of Ada, Ok; Stacy Williams of Austin and Holly Williams Arevalo and her husband Jacque of Bryan College Station; great grandchildren: Wesley Vanecek, Alexis Arevalo, and JJ Arevalo all of Bryan College Station, Natalie Heck and Katelyn Heck of Ada, OK; great great grandchildren: Sophie Wilson of Bryan College Station, and Ethan Vanecek of Miami, FL; sisters: Patsy Ruth Wilson and Shirley Jean Nutt; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Earl C. Eason and Robert L. Freeman; brother: Ralph Spurgeon “Bill” Briggs, Jr.; sister: Mildred Edith Doiron; and son-in-law: Allan W. Heck.
A time of visitation with Dorothy’s family will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 starting at 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX. A Service to Celebrate Dorothy’s Life will begin at 1 p.m. also in the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Shane Heck, Bill Reed, J.J. Arevalo, Jacque Arevalo, Wesley Vanecek, and Percy Ashley. Donna and Sherrie would like to express a special Thanks to the Nurses and Aids who cared for their Mother will she was in Summer Meadows.
