Janutta Mae Pilgrim, 71, of White Oak, TX, passed away January 20, 2019 at her residence in White Oak. She was born June 10, 1947 in Roscoe, TX to George and Sarah Lee Ward. Janutta graduated from Snyder High School. She married Larry Rex Pilgrim October 28, 1965 in Snyder. He preceded her in death May 18, 2016. She was owner of Pilgrim Oil and Gas in White Oak. She was wonderful with numbers and was always able to keep the family business in order. She loved collecting bells, birds, and geisha porcelain figurines, being outside on the patio watching the redbirds and playing with her dog, Sadie.
Janutta is survived by her daughter: Angie Turner and son-in-law: Jim Lynch of Longview; son: Justin Pilgrim and his wife Wendy of Gladewater; grandchildren: Jonathan Surber and his wife Kacie, Aaron Turner and his wife Ivonne of Longview, Sierra Golightly and her husband Daniel of Gladewater, Sarah Turner and her boyfriend Rudy Gutierrez of Longview, and Zoie Pilgrim of Gladewater; great grandchildren: Christopher Turner, Caden Surber, and Tobias Turner; sister: Lajuana Lee Cochran and her husband Johnny of Aspermont, TX; her faithful companion, Sadie Mae; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother, George W. Ward.
A time of visitation with her family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Lakeview Funeral Home. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX with Rev. Bill Blanks officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
