David Matthew St. John, 35, of Broomfield, CO passed away suddenly of natural causes on January 16, 2019. David was born on March 25, 1983. He was a leader in his youth group, United Synagogue Youth, an Eagle Scout, and a graduate of Brown University with a major in English and Creative Writing. While at Brown he was a member of the Ultimate Frisbee team. He loved poetry, history, music and nature as well as watching sports especially the Predators and the Titans. An avid reader and a ready wit, David had a lot of patience with children and animals and was devoted to his dog, Alice. He is survived by his parents, Samantha and Jim St. John of Birmingham, AL, his sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Rick Fidanzato and nephew Riley Fidanzato all of St. Petersburg FL, and brother Jason St. John of Chicago, IL. His funeral was January 22, 2019 at West End Synagogue in Nashville, TN, followed by burial at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Morrison, TN. A Thanksgiving dinner was held in David’s memory by a gathering of his family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Pocahontas Community Center (1441 Pocahontas Rd, Morrison, Tennessee 37357-3027) or the charity of your choice.
