Lynne was born on August 5th, 1935 in Montgomery, Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama planning on a degree in Accounting. But as fate would have it, she met the love of her life and married him on June 16, 1953. Together for over 53 years, the pair first moved to Biloxi Mississippi and then onto Huntsville, AL. After moving to Huntsville, Lynne began working first as a stay at home wife, then for the Huntsville Convention Center and she finished her career working for the US Army as a Project Manager for the TOW Missile project. The couple welcomed 2 children into their home and Lynne set about teaching them all the skills they would need to succeed in life. Her children remember her as a loving, talented and intellectual mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Lynne was accomplished at sewing and crocheting and often made her family scarfs, afghans and she crocheted several items for people in the hospital and homeless individuals. She was a witty, generous individual who loved her family and who was passionate about her gardening.
A funeral is scheduled for January 30th at 1:00 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home, with the burial to follow the service. She will be interred next to her adored husband. A reception after the burial will be held at Dale and Randy Dickerson’s. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lynne’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the SPCA in her name. The family would like to thank Accord Hospice and the staff at Briarview Memory Care for their love and kindness to Lynne.
