Angeline Clare Goggio Gardner, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, January 26. She was a graduate of St. Agnes High School and attended business school. She worked as a secretary for several companies until her retirement in the early 1980s.
A member of St. Anne Catholic Church on Highland since 1951, she served as an office volunteer there for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gardner, and son, Edward Gardner, Jr. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Goggio, Jr., and her daughter, Janice Gardner Tankersley (David).
The family would like to thank the staff of The Village at Primacy Parkway and Avalon Hospice for their kindness and professionalism in the care of Mrs. Gardner.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, at 9:00 in the morning at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests donations be made to St. Anne Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
