Martin Joseph Kastelic, 80, of Pataskala, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 8, 1938, in Oakmont, PA, a son to the late Joseph and AnnaMarie (Stephen) Kastelic. Martin was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from DCSC and was a strong supporter of the Charity Newsies. Martin loved his country, nature, hiking and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Katharina; son, Steven (Amber); grandchildren, Katharina and Austin; daughter, Constance (Todd) Gordish; granddaughter, McKenna; godchild, Allison Fairley; nieces, Patricia (Mike) Creek and Rebecca (Jeff) Freeman and many friends and family. In addition to his parents, Martin is also preceded in death by his siblings, AnnaMarie Usnik and Raymond. Friends may call from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Mass of Catholic Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2777 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43209 with Father David Schalk officiating. Honoring Martin’s wishes cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Charity Newsies, 4300 Indianola Ave., Columbus, OH 43214, in Martin’s memory.
